There is no universal maximum time for every caffeine pouch. Formulas differ in moisture, pouch material, pH, flavour and caffeine content. Many products specify a range such as 10 to 30 minutes, but the printed directions for the exact product take priority. More time does not guarantee more useful caffeine.

What happens during a session
Saliva hydrates the pouch and dissolves soluble ingredients. Some released caffeine may contact oral tissue and some is swallowed with saliva. A dry pouch may need longer to wet than a moist formulation. Flavour or tingling is not a reliable measure of absorbed dose, and a quiet first few minutes is not a reason to add a second pouch.
Remove it earlier when needed
Take the pouch out for sharp burning, persistent irritation, nausea, dizziness, palpitations or anxiety. Do not sleep, eat or exercise intensely with a pouch in place. Never chew, tear or reuse it. Rotate placement between sessions and allow irritated tissue to recover.
Why longer is not always better
Once most available ingredients have been released, extra contact may add little benefit while increasing saliva, flavour fatigue and local friction. Caffeine already absorbed continues to act after removal because its half-life is measured in hours. Removing the pouch does not instantly end the stimulant effect.
A responsible beginner routine
Choose the lowest labelled strength, note the placement time, use one intact pouch and wait long enough to assess the full effect before considering any other caffeine. Record coffee, tea, energy drinks and pre-workout in the same daily total. Keep used pouches away from children and pets.
Frequently asked questions
Is 30 minutes safe for every pouch?
No. Follow the specific label and remove it sooner if discomfort occurs.
Can I leave a pouch in for an hour?
Only if the manufacturer explicitly directs that duration; longer contact is not automatically better.
Does removal stop caffeine immediately?
No. Absorbed caffeine remains active for hours.
